Google Pixel smartphones will launch on October 4 in San Francisco and a new YouTube video teaser from the company confirms the upcoming event. The video shared on Google official YouTube channel, shows a rectangular search box taking the shape of a smartphone with the date October 4 mentioned next to it and the Google ‘G’ logo appearing at the end.
It also launched a new site that refers to the date as well as something “made by” Google. Google has yet to confirm what the phones will be called, but multiple reports have it dropping the Nexus name in favor of its “G” logo on the upcoming devices.
Google’s Pixel phones have been 2 code-named ‘Sail-fish’ and ‘Marlin’, and according to leaked benchmarks, the phones will run Android Nougat 7.1 version of the OS. Google has already started rolling out Android Nougat 7.0 to older Nexus smartphones, which is a first since usually the new OS was rolled out after new Nexus phones were launched.
